Time for another post

I’m feeling pretty lazy now, but I’ll give an update.
Inauguration Night was not as glamorous as I thought it would be. Joseph and I went to a nice restaurant called the Maua Basin Hotel. I fully expected the place to be packed to the gills but there was maybe two other people there. I was not satisfied with the size or quality of the TV so we bounced around to a few other restaurants until we found a TV more to my liking. We ate and watched the inauguration with a few other patrons and that was pretty much it. The few Kenyans I was with were pretty excited but I did not see any animals sacrificed in honor of the President. So, sorry I can’t say anything more exciting about it.

Life is going pretty good. I have been whipping up a bunch of different dishes. I enjoy going to the market and buying fresh food to prepare a truly homemade meal. Learning how to cook has been pretty fun, but still, I would love to just throw some burgers or beer brats on the grill.

Friday Joseph took me on a hike into the forest. We climbed one of the nearby hills. It was a very long and grueling hike. It made hiking up grandad bluff in La Crosse seem like a cakewalk. I was thrilled to see about a dozen monkeys.

I had some friends over this weekend. It was a pretty good time. I showed them the town and we made some beans, with mango salsa and chapati. Chapati is like a tortilla wrap. It was a delicious meal and I picked up some new cooking skills.

I’m tired, time for bed.
